My name is Iffat Nur, and I am a college student, currently studying at NYU. I'm currently pursuing a BA in Philosophy. This is my portfolio, something I've put together in the journey with me and my camera, through my experiences as a freelance photographer. I first picked up a camera in general in 2013, but I never took photography seriously at the time. To me, it was just a toy, something to point at my friends to scare them. I took photography more seriously in January, 2017, and from there this portfolio, the result of many months of sleepless nights, has arisen.

I do not know what I hope to accomplish with this portfolio. At the very least, I hope you gain at least a sense of the genuine work I attempt to put into this portfolio every single day, a documentation of sorts. If there is meaning to be drawn through my work, it is accidental, for while I am deliberate, my mindset is not.

As I get caught in the holes of my own life, photography has - and continues - to provide some sort of foundation upon which I can rest. It is not a remedy, and never will be a remedy. For all I know, it is but a distraction, a way for me to forget my fears and deep-rooted insecurities. It's the most control I may ever see in my life.
